From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, one of those small stories that make you put your head in your hands and wonder what kind of world we live in:
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested an Arcata man yesterday after receiving reports that he had made threats against students and faculty at Blue Lake Elementary School. At about 1:30 pm, school officials called 911 and reported a man near the campus was yelling and threatening to kill students. The caller provided a description of the man and added that the suspect had walked away from the school. Deputies located the man a short distance from the school and detained him. School personnel confirmed that the man, Dylan Wilson, 23, had walked past the school and yelled threats at a teacher who was escorting a group of first-graders. The teacher said Wilson had yelled statements towards her and several children, threatening to “murder” students.
Deputies arrested Wilson and transported him to the Humboldt county Correctional Facility where he was book for making threats against an employee of an educational institute, a felony. His bail was set at $15,000 and he is scheduled to be arraigned by Wednesday.
