Ottumwa police say they received a report Friday of a suspicious individual at the Ottumwa train station. When they arrived, they determined that Bradley Joseph Richardson, 31, Eureka, Calif., had about $200,000 worth of pot with him when he stepped off the passenger train.
How much do you want to wager that our fellow was “suspicious” only in the sense that he looked and dressed like a Humboldter? But the Ottumwa authorities set only a $5,000 bail! Godspeed, Mr. Richardson!
Ottumwa, we note, is on Amtrak’s California Zephyr line, a big West-to-East trunk that that terminates in Chicago. Your Lost Coast Outpost conducted an extensive search of both its own feeble memory and the Internet at large to find one interesting thing to say about the town, but the search was fruitless.
