Looking for a FREE outing with the kids and family?
On November 12th, 2011 from 11am to 3pm, Humboldt State University and the Geoscience Capstone Project will present their first Earth Science Day at the Natural History Museum located at 1315 G Street in Arcata. There will be booths of fun and education, from the sky to the center of the earth.
Have you ever wondered why earthquakes happen and what causes them? We can help explain them with our plate tectonics booth. Ever wonder why we have tsunamis? We can assist you with that as well with our tsunami booth. Are you a stargazer or is digging in the dirt your thing? An astronomy and soil identification booth will be on hand to help you out. And for those who like gems and minerals, we got you covered with our mineralogy table. We hope you’ll join us for an exciting day that will help you better understand the earth and its processes.
