From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 10-31-2012, approximately 8:00 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office received a report of an eleven year old male being chased by an adult male while he was waiting at a bus stop in the 900 block of Westgate Avenue, Eureka. The juvenile told deputies he was waiting alone at the bus stop for his bus to arrive when a green Dodge Durango or similar vehicle drove up, and the male driver exited the car and began chasing him. The juvenile ran to his grandmothers home near by and reported the incident to his grandmother mother who called the Sheriffs Office and notified his mother. The victim’s mother was driving his other siblings to school when the incident occurred. The victim was unable to describe the male suspect.
Deputies interviewed a school bus driver who drove by the area when the incident occurred reported seeing a white male adult, balding, wearing glasses and a white T-Shirt, approximately 30 years old parked in a bluish older model ( 1990’s) Ford Explorer near the bus stop speaking on a cell phone around 7:45 a.m. It is unknown if there is any connection.
