From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 09-07-2011, approximately 10:55 p.m. two Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies were conducting an investigation in the 2900 Block of Johnson Road, Hydesville, when they overheard yelling coming from the area of Murrish Market, Hydesville.

The deputies responded to the area of the yelling to find out what the yelling was all about. When the deputies arrived at Murrish Market they saw three males, two 18 year olds and a nineteen year old, all local residents, standing next to a White Jeep Wrangler. The males were all visibly upset. The victims’ told the deputies they had just been robbed at gun point and the suspect fled prior to the deputies’ arrival. The victims told the deputies the suspect had ordered them to empty out their pockets and get on the ground while pointing a black colored semi automatic handgun at them. The victims complied with the suspects’ demands. The suspect physically kicked one of the victims in the ribs during the robbery. While the suspect was robbing the victims a vehicle pulled up to get gasoline at the market. The suspect told the victims, “Stand up and act normal or I will kill you”. After the vehicle finished fueling and left the area the suspect pointed the gun at the victims’ and told them to walk down Highway 36 as the suspect fled the scene. Cash and car keys were stolen from the victims who were traumatized, but uninjured.

Deputies searched the surrounding area for the suspect with no success.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 25-35 years of age, approximately 5’10”, 145 lbs, wearing dark clothing and a bandanna. He was last seen running behind Murrish Market which was closed at the time of the robbery.

The Sheriffs Office is attempting to locate and speak with the driver of the vehicle who obtained gas at Murrish Market, Hydesville around 10:50 p.m. on 09-07-2011.
