Art, food and earthy sciences dominate the 2012 Economic Fuel business challenge finalists, who were just announced today.
It’s all very Humboldt! You’ve got a potter, a corn farmer, a soil scientist, a natural baby food manufacturer, a video producer, an animator, a laminator and an iPhone fix-it man.
I can’t help but imagine that they’d all be better off melding their skills into a single super-startup. The scientist finds optimal corn-growing terrain; the farmer grows the corn for the baby food; which is sold is special handcrafted ceramic containers; the labels of which are laminated directly onto the jars; which are peddled via whimsical television ads; which feature 3-D visualizations of babies growing up into healthy, strong, productive citizens.
And then the iPhone guy … I don’t know. He fixes everyone’s iPhones when they break, I guess.
I’m still working out the kinks. Have your people call my people, guys.
