ROUTE 169 NIGHT CLOSURES TO BEGIN AUGUST 23

Eureka – Caltrans announced today that an emergency slide repair project on
Route  169  in  Humboldt  County ten miles downriver from the Martins Ferry
Bridge  (near  postmile  22)  will  again  require  nighttime road closures
beginning  the  evening  of  Thursday,  August  23,  and continuing through
Friday,  October  5.   Nighttime  road  closures  will be from 10PM to 5AM,
Sunday  evening  through  Friday  morning.  Daytime one-way traffic control
will  continue.  Daytime work hours are 5AM to 6PM, weekdays, and motorists
should anticipate 15-minute delays.  During Tribal Ceremonies the nighttime
road  closures  will be suspended and the daytime delays will be limited to
10 minutes.  The contractor is Shasta Constructors of Redding.

Caltrans  appreciates  the  public’s  patience  and  is working to minimize
impacts.   Further  night closures for the construction of this project are
anticipated at later dates throughout this summer. For questions about this
