From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 12-9-2012, approximately 8:00 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a physical altercation in progress in the 2800 block of Lindstrom Drive, Eureka. The caller told the dispatcher multiple suspects entered a residence and were hitting people with clubs. When deputies arrived on scene they met with a 47 year old male victim and a 56 year old male victim. Both were bleeding from the head and facial areas. Medical was requested and responded to the scene to treat them for their injuries. The victims injuries were non-life threatening.
Deputies interviewed the victims and witness’s who told them three men entered the residence carrying a wooden shovel handle, baseball bat, homemade club attached to a metal pole, a box cutter and a metal ratchet. Deputies recovered some of the weapons at the scene. The men began attacking and beating the victims with the weapons. The victim and witness’s were able to positively identify one of the suspects as Joseph Donald Ray aka Joey Ray. He is further described as a white male adult, 6-1, 175 lbs, brown hair, 46 years old from Eureka. Joey Ray is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office for assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation.
The Sheriff’s Office is still actively following up on this investigation and attempting to identify the other two suspects.
