From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 12-27-2012, approximately 9:30 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an assault which just occurred. Deputies responded to the intersection of Glenwood and Ohio Street, Eureka where they met with the 39 year old male victim.
The victim reported he was walking around a cement truck parked partially in the roadway on Glenwood Street near Myrtle Avenue, Eureka when a silver BMW sped by him westbound on Glenwood Street and almost struck him. The vehicle then stopped in front of a residence in the 3200 block of Glenwood and the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, exited the car. The victim confronted the driver about almost hitting him and an argument ensued. The driver removed a pocket knife from his pocket and brandished it at the victim while threatening to stab him. The driver then put the knife away and swung at the victim with his fists, missing the victim, before getting back into the BMW.
After getting into his vehicle, the driver spun his vehicle around in the street and accelerated directly at the victim who had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. The driver repeated this after turning his car around again and tried to run over the victim a second time, coming so close the vehicle ran over the tip of the victim’s shoe.
The investigating deputy spoke with two witnesses who saw the assault with the vehicle. The deputy was able to determine the driver of the vehicle was Jason Robert Shreeve, 32 years old from Eureka. A warrant check revealed Shreeve had a Humboldt County Superior Court felony warrant for his arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and hit and run.
The victim was uninjured.
The Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement are looking for Shreeve in the current case along with the outstanding arrest warrant.
The suspect is described as: white male, 32 years old, 5-6, 140 lbs, brown hair and blue eyes. Last seen driving an older model silver BMW, partial plate first three characters of 6XU.
