The chaos that is the current race for Congress is a beautiful thing to behold. Came this morning the weirdest and most unexpected news yet: State Sen. Noreen Evans bucked the Democratic machine to endorse Stacey Lawson over establishment candidate Jared Huffman.
I repeat: Holy moly! This is the second wave of the Stacey Surge, which even her leadership of a paranormal research institute investigating telekinesis seems unable to slow.
Press release follows:
State Senator Noreen Evans Endorses Stacey Lawson for Congress
Senator Evans cites Lawson’s “understanding of how to create jobs, respect for the environment, and willingness to fight for middle-class families”
Educator and small business owner Stacey Lawson won the endorsement today of California State Senator Noreen Evans.
Coming just weeks after key endorsements by EMILY’s List and the Women’s Campaign Fund, Senator Evans’ endorsement adds to the breadth of support and strong momentum demonstrated by Lawson’s campaign for California’s Second Congressional District.
Senator Evans said: “Stacey Lawson’s real-world experience as an educator and small business advocate is exactly what we need to help create good jobs on the North Coast and throughout America. I have been very impressed with her understanding of how to create jobs, respect for the environment, and willingness to fight for middle-class families. Please join me in supporting Stacey Lawson for Congress.”
As the state senator for Sonoma, Mendocino and Humboldt counties, Senator Evans has a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the newly drawn Second Congressional District.
Lawson said: “I am honored by Senator Evans’ confidence and support. California benefits greatly from her leadership on creating green jobs locally, fighting for children and families, protecting the environment and reforming the legal system. And I look forward to working with her to create middle-class jobs and help small businesses grow in Northern California and all of America.”
Lawson is the only candidate in the race for California’s 2nd Congressional District with real-world experience creating jobs and helping small businesses grow. Lawson, who co-founded and teaches at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at UC Berkeley, started a company that created technology to help U.S. manufacturers compete in the global marketplace — and keep middle-class jobs in America.
