UPDATE: Press release follows:
Eureka, CA – The Humboldt Deputy Sheriffs’ Organization (HDSO) announced today that they have endorsed Rex Bohn for the First District Supervisorial District seat.
The HDSO is made up of over 125 deputy sheriffs, deputy coroners, probation officers and other law enforcement and county personnel who risk their lives every day to make the community a safer place.
HDSO President Steve Quenell, a detective with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, has first- hand knowledge of Rex Bohn’s commitment to law enforcement and a safe and secure County.
“Rex has already earned the confidence of hundreds of families and local leaders who understand the unique public safety challenges presented by Humboldt County’s remote and varied communities and rugged terrain.” Quenell stated. “The Deputy Sheriffs are proud to join these families in certifying Rex’s commitment to keeping Humboldt County a safe place to live, work, and raise a family,” he concluded.
Candidate Rex Bohn was thrilled and humbled by this most recent endorsement. “These folks know what the qualities are for leadership…because they’re leaders. I will work hard every day to be the candidate they’ve endorsed and when elected, the kind of Supervisor they’re proud of.”
Rex Bohn is a well-known community leader, youth advocate and founder of Redwood Fields Recreation complex in Cutten. He is a lifelong resident of Humboldt County and has served his community since 1977 when he chaired the Humboldt/Del Norte Special Olympics. Bohn enjoys wide community support as a candidate, with over 1,000 supporters, leaders, and friends attending his recent campaign kick-off at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds.
