Let’s make a list of who in Humboldt County is blacking out their Web page to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act.
The Lost Coast Outpost is not, but our country cousin the Redheaded Blackbelt is.
Despite the fact that it sent out a strongly worded press release trumpeting its participation in the strike, it appears that Access Humboldt is as alive as it ever was. Technical difficulties, probably.
(UPDATE, 9:57 a.m.: So Access Humboldt itself did not go dark, but since archive.org went dark and Access Humboldt hosts its archival video on access.org, the archival video went dark.)
Who else?
SOPA is really, really bad idea. Here’s why. @RupertMurdoch loves it, so you probably don’t. If you have a moment today, there are worse ways to waste it than by writing your representative urging them to stop this destructive, job-killing meat-cleaver of a bill that would criminalize the Internet as we know it.
Rep. Mike Thompson is already on record as a strong SOPA opponent. Sen. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein could use a push. Find their contact info at the links above.
