UPDATE: Brian Anderson, Redway Fire Chief urged in a note on SoHum Awareness
CalFire Humboldt Unit has just dispatched six engines from our area south to assist and cover in Mendocino County. Please, Please be very fire aware as our local resources are stretched thin for the next few hours. If you are a volunteer with our local departments, please respond accordingly if your department is dispatched as we will have little to no CalFire backup for initial attack on fire calls for the next few hours. Thank you!!!

There is a 25 acre fire near Laytonville, Ca. A little south of Camp Winnarainbow, near Highway 101 on Woodruff Road. CHP is being directed to the fire to help with traffic control. I’m not sure what that may mean in terms of through traffic on 101 but currently the road is shown as open.
Teri Klemetson of KMUD is reporting that crew and engines are being taken off the Covelo fire to assist with this one.
I’ll update this post with news of the Laytonville fire and the previous post with information on the Covelo incident.
