From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 05-25-2012, approximately 6:45 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office received a call from a citizen reporting his parent’s residence had been burglarized. The residence was located in the 100 block of Port Kenyon Road, Ferndale. The citizen was the son of the victims who told the investigating deputy his parents were on vacation and the person caretaking their home called him to report the burglary. The burglary occurred between approximately 4:00 p.m. on 05-24-2012 and approximately 9:00 a.m.05-25-2012.
The suspect(s) had ransacked the residence and shop area. The suspect(s) stole seventeen firearms consisting of rifles, shotguns and handguns, along with chainsaws, tools, lap tops, video equipment, a Honda 6500 cc generator, numerous jewelry items and a Black 2002 Honda Civic, California Plate 4ZPE306. The Honda Civic was parked in the carport. The estimated loss in this case is at least $50,000.00, but is still being tallied.
