UPDATE 4:13 P.M.: According to Sheriff Spokesperson, Lt. Steve Knight, “They [Kan and Khun] claimed medical…The children were placed with family members.”  He says there will be follow up from Child Welfare Services.

On 11-6-2012, approximately 2:00 p.m. the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) served a Humboldt County Superior Court Search Warrant in the 6200 Block of London Drive, Eureka. During  service of the search warrant agents located Jomra Choy Kan, 36 years old and Rose Channy Khun, 30 years old in the residence, along with Khun’s two children, a five year old and a one year old.

 

HCDTF Agents searched the residence and located an indoor marijuana grow with 422 marijuana  plants along with approximately 40 lbs of dried marijuana bud ( Estimated value at $80,000.00 ), approximately 86 pounds of dried marijuana leaves, a scale, packaging materials a scale and $8,310.00 in US Currency.

 

Child Welfare Services were contacted along with the Humboldt County Building Inspector. The Building Inspector determined the electrical work performed on the residence was without permits and inspections, and that safety issues were present.

 

Khun and Kan were arrested for possession for cultivation, possession for sale, child  endangerment, and maintaining a residence for the use/sale of drugs. They were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where their bail was set at $75,000.00.
