Callers to KHUM are telling us that there’s a small brush fire at the end of South G Street, at or near the Arcata Marsh. Fire trucks are on the scene, but in the meanwhile there’s a thick, black smoke rising into the air, we are told.
The Arcata Fire Protection District isn’t answering phones yet, but the CHP has been called to check out two cars parked in the immediate vicinity of the fire.
