As many as six local schools might earn a berth in the upcoming North Coast Section playoffs.

The Little Four Conference champion Ferndale Wildcats and the Arcata Tigers, who won their first outright Big Five Conference title since 1985, have automatically qualified for the post season.

Both the St. Bernard’s Crusaders and the Fortuna Huskies will advance to the playoffs.

With a win in their final game of the regular season, the South Fork Cubs and the Eureka Loggers would be eligible for the NCS playoffs.

The brackets for the five divisions will be released on Sunday, November 4
