From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 10-8-2012, approximately 7:00 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a possible home invasion in progress in the 1000 block of Holmes Flat Road, Holmes Flat. When deputies arrived on scene they met with the 57 year old male victim and his 56 year old wife. They told the deputies the suspect had fled. They told the deputies there was a knock at their front door. The husband opened the door and was met by a white male adult pointing a short barreled shotgun at his face. The suspect demanded the husband exit the home; however the husband backed into the residence. Meantime his wife and children fled the home out the back of the residence. When the husband neared a sliding glass door, he ran out the residence also, leaving the suspect inside the home. The suspect left before deputies arrived. The victims did not report anything taken.
The suspect was described as a white male approximately 5’9’ to 5’10” tall, 160 to 170 lbs, short dark hair and wearing dark clothing. No further information was provided by the victims.
