UPDATE: Official Press Release/Mug Shots
A reader sends along this photo of a guns-out arrest on E Street between Del Norte and Wabash this morning. Too much drama in the 95501.
EPD Sgt. Steve Watson, who was kind enough to give us a brief cell phone report from the mean streets a few moments ago, says that the EPD is having a very busy day. The above case represents the aftermath of a residential burglary that took place yesterday. A truck, a gun and other items were stolen from a home. This morning, a friend of the victim saw the stolen vehicle driving city streets. The friend followed the stolen truck and notified the police, who showed up to perform the arrest above. Ammunition was found on the suspect, who was booked into jail.
More information should be forthcoming, presuming the department’s press people ever get a chance to sit at their desks. Watson said that this was the second stolen vehicle case of the day; another car stolen from the Allard Avenue area was recovered earlier in the Eureka Mobile Village parking lot. And a bunch of stolen stuff has turned up in local pawn shops this morning, too.
