The Lake County Record-Bee reports that McKinleyville man Robert Lee Wagner, 45, was killed in a head-on collision between two big rigs on Highway 20 yesterday, a crash that sent Wagner’s truck into a lake and shut down the highway for nearly eight hours.
A 15-year-old McKinleyville boy was riding in Wagner’s refrigerated food truck at the time of the crash, the Record-Bee continues. The boy was trapped in the mostly submerged vehicle and was extricated with great difficulty, after which he was flown to UC Davis.
