From the Eureka Police Department:
On 8-5-13 at about 7:17 am, an officer of the Eureka Police Department located a stolen vehicle traveling north bound at the 4500 block of Broadway. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Chico, Ca.
Officers responded to assist and an enforcement stop was attempted at the 3200 block of Broadway. The vehicle (a gray 1989 Chevrolet Blazer) failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued off of Broadway onto residential surface streets. At one point during the pursuit, “spike strips” were deployed and one of the vehicles tires was successfully deflated. The vehicle continued for a few more blocks, until it stopped at the 2100 block of Progress Street.
Upon stopping, the driver exited the vehicle and ran southbound through an apartment complex. A short foot pursuit took place until officers were able to tackle the suspect. A short struggle ensued and with the use of a taser, the suspect was taken into custody. The passenger was taken into custody at the vehicle without incident.
The driver was transported to St. Joseph ER for treatment of minor injuries received during the struggle. The passenger was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for booking.
The driver was identified as Jeremiah J Lindke (35 years old of Paradise, Ca). He was booked on charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and evading an officer. Lindke also had an active arrest warrant for parole absconding. Lindke is ineligible for bail due to his parole status.
The passenger was identified as Jennifer Michelle Dew (32 years old of Paradise, Ca). She was booked on a charge of possession of stolen property and also for an extraditable arrest warrant out of Oregon.
