UPDATE, 1 p.m.: Actually, the suspect in custody. Updated press release:

On 12-20-2013, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies, United States Marshalls, Humboldt County District Attorney Investigators and Eureka Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Huntoon Street, Eureka after receiving information Zachariah Friedland may be located there. When the officers arrived they surrounded the home. Two deputies in the backyard saw Friedland look out a back upstairs window, when the officers at the front of the residence were knocking and announcing at the front door. Deputies told Friedland to come out of the residence and he refused. Officers were allowed entry into the home by another occupant who answered the door. Officers searched the residence for Friedland who was located hiding in a small upstairs crawl space under some clothes. He submitted to arrest after being discovered. Friedland was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the outstanding arrest warrants.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating a wanted suspect. Zachariah Scott Friedland, 35 years old, has two felony warrants for his arrest. The first warrant is for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and oral copulation with a minor, the bail is set at $110,000.00. The second warrant is for possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property. There is no bail on the second arrest warrant.
