UPDATE 9:40 P.M.: The Lumberjack‘s Facebook page is saying that Arcata Fire Dept. Battalion Chief, Sean Campbell confirms there was a fatality and says the home is being treated as a crime scene.

“Firefighters evacuated the apartment building to the south of the fire, using chain saws to open the doors of apartments where there was no response to knocks.”
