Arcata Police Department press release:

On 12/06/2013 at about 1420 hours, an officer with the Arcata Police Department contacted a male subject behind Toby & Jack’s Bar (764 Ninth Street) for smoking marijuana. During the contact the male subject, later identified as Oregon resident Vincent David Torrey (age 36), provided a false identity to the officer and was subsequently placed under arrest for the violation.

During a search of Torrey’s backpack incident to his arrest, officer’s located and seized approximately one and a half pounds of processed marijuana, a small amount of concentrated cannabis and over $18,000 in cash.

Torrey was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked and lodged for H&S 11359 - Possession for sales, PC 148.9 - Falsely identifying one’s self to a peace officer and H&S 11357(a) - Possession of concentrated cannabis.
