Santa joined in with dozens of tuba players today at the Gazebo in Eureka.

Tubas, tubas, and more tubas sounded off today at the Gazebo in Eureka.  The musicians were celebrating the 26th annual Tuba Christmas. Shoppers and other souls intrepid enough to brave the cold were treated to a concert and were fortunate enough to see the unveiling of this year’s Jazz Festival poster by Duane Flatmo.

Mark McKenna, local photographer whose mother is Jazz Board President Lynn McKenna, captured the spirit of the event for LoCO.

Chilly cheeks, nippy noses, and frozen fingers were part of the musicians’ rewards.

The Humboldt sky reflected in this tuba player’s instrument.
