“More deaths than births lately,” said Humboldt County Coroner Dave Parrish.  “We’re in the top 5% of the nation for suicides.”  Parrish attributes the high death rate in Humboldt COunty (we have the second highest rate of death per capita  for counties in California (HOW DOES THIS STACK UP TO THE NATION>)) to a variety of causes. “A whole lot of issues going on,” he explained.  One cause, he believes, might be the influx of homeless.  “There a lot of homeless deaths.” I support helping the homeless 11 or 12 homicides so far this year.
