UPDATE 4:45 P.M.: At this time most customers should have power back, stated a PG&E spokesperson. Only 4 customers are without power and they should be restored by 6 P.M.
The cause of the outage was a downed wire.
UPDATE 1:25 P.M.: According to a PG&E spokesperson, the outage mostly impacted the east side of Humbold Hill and the Oak Elk River Valley. There were 2886 customers without power. They are still trying to identify the cause but power is currently on to most residents.
Original post: PG&E outage map shows a large number of Eureka residents are out of power. According to PG&E the power went down just before noon. There is a crew on site. The cause and the time of restoration are not yet posted. However, LoCO has a call in to the company requesting more information.
