On 2-4-2013, approximately 11:20 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a fight in progress involving multiple people, one armed with an axe at a residence in the 100 block of Hayrake Lane, Loleta.
Several deputies responded to the scene. While enroute dispatch received a call that one of the combatants was struck with the axe and medical was enroute. When deputies arrived they met with several people.
Deputies were able to determine two adult males and a female came to the residence to contact the occupants about an alleged theft that occurred when one of the males was in jail. A fight ensued between a male occupant of the home and the two of the males who arrived to ask about the alleged stolen property. One of the three adults who drove to the home sustained an injury to his eye from being struck by a drinking glass and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Due to conflicting statements about what occurred and who was the aggressor the case is being submitted to the Humboldt County District Attorneys’ Office. No one was arrested at the scene, and no names of the involved parties are being released since there was no arrest made.
