From the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:

On 01-22-2013 at about 6:30 pm a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant on routine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on Vance Avenue near Highway 255, Manila. The Sergeant contacted the sole occupant of the vehicle who he identified as Nicholas Grant Robinson age 28 from Eureka.

The Sergeant checked Robinson’s name through his dispatch for any possible arrest warrants. The dispatcher advised that Robinson was on probation for a narcotics violation and had a search and seizure clause.

The Sergeant then advised Robinson that he was going to search his person and his vehicle. The Sergeant then located what appeared to be about ¼ of a pound of heroin hidden in the fuse box underneath the dash board in the vehicle. The Sergeant also located about a 1/8 of gram of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Robinson was then placed under arrest. The Humboldt County Drug Task was contacted to take over the investigation. Humboldt County Drug Task Agent later arrived on scene with their narcotics detection trained dog. No more narcotics were located in the vehicle.

Robinson was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for possession for sales of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a pipe used to smoke controlled substances and for violation of probation. Robinson’s bail was set at $50,000 dollars.

Drug Task Force Agents and the Eureka Police Department then searched Robinson’s residence located in the 1600 block of “L” Street, Eureka. Officers located numerous smoking pipes for controlled substances, and syringes in the residence.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force.
