Fortuna Police Dept. Press Release:

On January 27, 2013 at approximately 0715 hours, Officers with the Fortuna Police Department responded to a residence in the 800 block of O Street to serve a search warrant for two individuals that were wanted for numerous outstanding warrants.

 

Officers were met at the front door by the female owner of the residence. She was advised of the search warrant. While at the front door of the residence, one of the suspects, Christopher Shane Cooper age 31 from Fortuna attempted to flee out a side door of the residence and was apprehended by officers. The second subject, Franklin Tyler Whilden age 30 from Fortuna attempted to flee from the front of the residence and was also apprehended by officers.

 

Cooper was arrested for two outstanding felony warrants and two misdemeanor warrants. He was booked into the Humboldt County Jail.
