From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

In December, the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office was contacted by the Eureka Police Department of an ongoing multi-agency investigation into Child Pornography. The Eureka Police Department had been advised by a Santa Clara Police Department Detective of a subject downloading Child Pornography in the Eureka area based upon an IP address Santa Clara PD had discovered through their investigation. A Eureka Police Detective wrote a Search Warrant for the subscriber information of the IP address. It was learned that the IP address returned to a residence in the 4300 block of Roberts Drive in Eureka.

The Eureka Police Detective contacted Humboldt County Sheriff’s Detectives and provided the information he learned. A Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Detective wrote and obtained a Humboldt County Superior Court search warrant for the residence on Roberts Drive, Eureka.

On 1-3-13, approximately 8:45 a.m. Humboldt County Sheriffs Detectives served the search warrant and seized the computer and other electronics from the home. After interviewing Christopher Jansen 21 years old, who resided in the home, detectives arrested him for felony possession of child pornography. He was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. His bail is set at $25,000.00.
