Humboldt CO. Press Release:

After more than a year of construction, the Humboldt County Library Trinidad Branch will soon be open to the public at its new site on Janis Court, just off U.S. Highway 101. The new site will be in the Trinidad Cultural Center next to the Trinidad Museum, the Trinidad Native Plant Garden and Saunders Park.

Groundbreaking for this facility in Trinidad took place on May 20, 2012 and the official grand opening of the Trinidad Branch at its new location has been set for Aug. 18. The event is being organized by the Trinidad Library Building Committee and members of the Trinidad Friends of the Library.

While construction is wrapping up on the new site, the Trinidad Branch’s current site has been slated for closure from July 21 through Aug. 9. The closure will allow the county library staff members to relocate the branch from its present site at 463 Trinity Street to its new location at 380 Janis Court.

The County Board of Supervisors approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Trinidad for the provision of library services at this new location at their June 18 meeting.
