Doug Bryan, a member of the Southern Humboldt Fire Chiefs Public Information Team, reports that there is a vegetation fire near KMUD in Redway. Updates as they become available.

UPDATE 5:24 P.M.: Byan says, “The fire in Redway is near Orchard Lane and Titus Court. There are many buildings in the area and the winds are gusty. Smoke is very visible in the area and I have received many calls from people in the area. Redway Fire and Cal Fire are there working to control the fire. First report was 1/2 to 3/4 acre size.”

UPDATE 5:35 P.M.: KMUD just put out a call for folks with proper tools to come help cut a fire line.

UPDATE 5:37 P.M.: KMUD’s Facebook page is now saying, “Smoke has visibly decreased, and it appears the fire is getting under control.”
