UPDATE 10:08 P.M.: CHP is reporting that Cal Fire has one lane of Redwood Drive blocked for equipment. Presumably that is the west side of Redwood Drive as the fire is on that side.

UPDATE 9:48 P.M.:  Bryan now says, “Confirmed Vegetation Fire in Redway, appx 1/2 acre, west of Redwood Dr near West Coast Rd. Cal Fire and Redway Fire at scene.”

According to Doug Bryan, a member of Southern Humboldt Fire Chief’s Association’s Public Information Team, Redway Fire and Cal Fire are “responding to a report of vegetation fire near Redwood Dr. and West Coast Rd.”
