Press release from Eureka Police Department:

On 06/23/13 a little after midnight, three suspects and one soon-to-be victim walked out of the Bar Fly (foot of Commercial Street) in Eureka. Shortly thereafter the victim was assaulted with an edged weapon, causing serious injury to his neck. He was able to return to the bar and was assisted by a patron until medical aid arrived. He was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

The names of the suspects have not been definitively determined, but a number of investigative leads have been provided and are being pursued. The motivation for the attack is under investigation.
