Eureka Police Dept. Press Release:
On 6-30-13 at 1725 hours the Eureka Police Department responded to the intersection of Broadway and Wabash Ave for a report of an injury traffic collision involving a sedan and a motorcycle. Upon arrival officers discovered the sedan had fled the scene immediately after the collision occurred.
The vehicle that fled the scene was described as a maroon 4 door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Nissan. The vehicle should have moderate damage the to the right (passenger) side of the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Broadway from Wabash Ave.
The driver is described as a white female in her 20’s with blonde hair. There was also a small child in the back seat of the vehicle. Witnesses on scene stated the driver appeared to be talking on her cell phone when she cut in front of the motorcycle causing the motorcycle to collide with her vehicle.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained major injuries to his legs as a result of the collision.
