Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 06-1-2013, approximately 4:15 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a man who said he had been assaulted with an iron cooking pot in the head and was bleeding. Deputies and medical personnel responded to the Palms Hotel and Café, in Orick and met with the 26-year old male victim. Deputies saw the victim had an approximate one inch gash on the back of his head.
The victim told the deputies he was staying in a travel trailer behind the Palms Hotel when a female known to him as Gabriella Gutieriez, 18 years old entered the trailer and began yelling and screaming at him. He asked her to leave, and she picked up a six inch diameter cast iron pot she found in the kitchen of the trailer and struck him in the head with it. He told the deputies the blow almost knocked him out, and he became dizzy and disoriented. Gutieriez then reached into his pants pocket and stole $260 in cash from him then fled the trailer on foot.
Deputies searched the area for Gutieriez but were unable to locate her. A be-on-the-lookout was placed for Gutieriez who is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.
Gabriella Laticia Gutieriez is described as a Hispanic female, 18 years old, 5‘3” tall, approximately 160 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. She is from the Eureka.
