On 3/14/2013, detectives from the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) served a search warrant at an apartment on the 700 block of 10th St. in Eureka. The investigation was in response to numerous complaints of suspected drug activity here. 

The known occupants of the apartment, Benjamin Halseth and Shannon Lewis were contacted and detained outside the complex. As a result of the investigation, detectives seized 24.3 grams of Heroin, 1.4 grams of Methamphetamine, 2.9 grams of Hashish, and approximately 1 ½ lbs of Marijuana.

Halseth and Lewis were arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Halseth (age 29) was booked for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin for Sale, Transportation of Heroin, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Lewis (age 19) was booked for Possession of Heroin, and Possession of Heroin for Sale.
