Press release from the Eureka Police Department:

EPD Traffic Officers and Detectives spoke with citizens today who saw the victim of yesterday’s fatal collision walking her dog in the general area moments before the collision took place. Officers also spoke with a citizen who stopped to render aid right after the collision occurred. None of the citizens witnessed the actual collision.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was identified as 53 year old Timothy McTague of Eureka.

The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office will be releasing the name of the victim today. 

EPD is asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information to add please contact Traffic Officers Tim Jones or Gary Whitmer.

UPDATE: The T-S is reporting that the victim is in fact Nina Winogradov, wife of local television personality Dave Silverbrand.
