From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 05-31-2013, approximately 8:30 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Officereceived a call from a 55 year old Carlotta man who reported being assaulted and robbed at gunpoint. A deputy met with the victim who had fresh visible injuries on his face and head. The victim declined medial assistance.
The victim told the deputy he resides alone in the 10000 block of Highway 36, Carlotta in a single wide mobile home. He said he was awake in his home around 6:30 a.m., when an adult male opened the front unlocked door to his residence and entered. The suspect had his face covered with a black bandana or mask and was wearing all black. The suspect brandished a black revolver at the victim and told him to lie down on the floor. The suspect then tied up the victim and demanded the victim’s vehicle and the Title to his vehicle. The suspect then ransacked the victim’s home for approximately an hour. While searching the victim’s home, the suspect would periodically strike the victim in the head with the handgun. Prior to leaving the victims residence, the suspect told the victim if he called law enforcement he would kill him. The suspect then stole the victims Toyota Pickup Truck and fled.
The suspect is described as: White male, approximately 5’9” tall, wearing all dark clothing. No further description could be provided by the victim. Speaks with a slight accent. Armed with a black revolver.
