UPDATE 11/21: Good news! Missing Phillipsville resident, Dave Daurghty, has been found safe in the Eureka area. His step-daughter, Leanna Hicks, called LoCO this morning to let us know Daurghty is alright. She thanked everyone for their assistance. Welcome back, Dave!
Original post:A Phillipsville man, Dave Daurghty, has been reported missing [as of yesterday] to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. Daurghty, shown, wearing the Santa hat above, was at North Coast Substance Abuse Council (Crossroads) when he had a seizure and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was released on Tuesday, November 12th a little after midnight. Reportedly he refused a cab ride back to Crossroads and has not been seen since.
Daurghty is described as really weak and possibly disoriented. The long time local has just recently shaved his beard and is thinner than pictured above.
Sgt. Ken Swithenbank reported that the Humboldt Co. Sheriff’s Office is trying to get a team organized to go into the wooded area behind the hospital and search today. There has been no contact from Daurghty since he disappeared, explained Swithenbank. “No phone calls, no bank account action, nothing.”
People with any information can call 599-6010 or the Humboldt Co. Sheriff’s Department 707 923 2761.
