Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Press Release:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Animal Shelter would like to remind the public that October is Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month. To encourage more adoptions, the Humboldt County Animal Shelter has reduced adoption fees for all adoptable dogs to $35. This couldn’t come at a better time, as the Shelter has seen a large influx of dogs over the past couple of months resulting in a lack of space.
If you are missing your dog or cat, please contact the Animal Shelter immediately.
The Shelter has several dogs looking for their new forever home. You can view adoptable dogs at www.petharbor.com or stop by and meet them. The Shelter is located at 980 Lycoming Ave in Mckinleyville, we are open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10-4 and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-7.
The Shelter also has four dogs that are injured and are seeking foster homes while they recover from surgery. If you are interested in fostering a dog please contact the Shelter for information. If you cannot foster a dog or cat but still wish to help you can donate money to the Humboldt County Animal Shelter Emergency Fund. This fund is used to pay veterinarian bills for injured dogs and cats that would otherwise have to be euthanized. The shelter can be contacted by calling 707-840-9132 for more information.
