Arcata Police Dept. Press Release:

Officers from the Arcata Police Department, with the assistance of the Humboldt State University Police Department, served a search warrant at a residence in the 4500 Blk of Valley West Blvd on Thursday afternoon.

Upon entering the residence, officers located a marijuana growing operation encompassing the garage area of the residence.

Officers seized approximately 40 growing marijuana plants, about 8 pounds of drying marijuana, approximately 8 pounds of processed marijuana, and two firearms. 

The growing operation that was being conducted inside the home consisted of 14, 1000 watt grow lights, and was utilizing nearly 8 times the electricity of a typical Arcata family home. 

During the investigation, material used in the highly dangerous butane method of concentrated cannabis manufacture was located inside the residence.

Records indicated the residents were currently enrolled in the PG&E CARE program for low income families.

Martin Louis Felperin of Arcata, was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Jail on the following charges:

·         11358 Health & Safety-Cultivation of Marijuana

·         11359 Health & Safety - Possession of Marijuana for Sale

·         11379.6 Health & Safety - Manufacturing
