Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
On 10-04-2013, approx. 4:00 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the clerk at Freeway 76 Gas Station, Murray Road, McKinleyville who told the dispatcher he had just been robbed at gunpoint. Deputies responded to the gas station and also immediately checked the surrounding area for the suspect.
The 30 year old male clerk told the investigating deputy he was in the back stocking the cooler when he heard someone enter the store. The clerk came out to greet the customer and was contacted by a male suspect wearing a black knit ski mask. The male suspect pointed the handgun at the clerk and stated, “Hurry up homie, give me the money.” The suspect then emptied the cash drawer into a green camouflaged duffle bag. After taking the cash, the suspect ran away west bound on foot.
The suspect is described as follows: white male adult, 5’ 9” tall, thin build, blue eyes, black shoes, black pants, black hat, black ski style mask, a black sweatshirt with gray or white sleeves, and black gloves. The suspect had a hood pulled up over his head and was wearing black gloves. He was armed with a short barreled, silver colored revolver, and was carrying a camouflaged colored green duffle bag.
The clerk was not injured in the robbery.
