UPDATE 10:30 A.M.: Deputy Coroner Roy Horton told the Lost Coast Outpost that he has identified the woman whose body was found this morning and notified the woman’s husband. Her name is being withheld to allow other family members to be notified.
Horton said that the woman was last seen around 10:30 last night. Her body was found this morning by PG&E workers. Horton said that it could be seen where the woman had shed a blanket and a hoodie as well as pajama-like bottoms and moved swiftly towards the water. Her tracks were still visible. “I could tell that she was running into the surf,” he said. There is no evidence of anything suspicious, he said.
Her dog was found inside her car and it has been taken to an animal shelter.
The Lost Coast Outpost staff extends its sympathies to family and friends.
