Fortuna Police Department Press Release:

On April 17, 2014 at about 5:45 PM, officers responded to the Six Rivers Motel (531 South Fortuna Blvd) after receiving complaints of suspicious activity in one of the rooms. Upon arrival, officers contacted Alexander Bennett (Age 24 of Fortuna), Ethan Gordon (Age 24 of Rio Dell), and Kyli Howard (Age 20 of Fortuna).

Upon further investigation, officers conducted a search of the motel room. During the search, officers located a Stolen Loaded Simi-Automatic Pistol, Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Marijuana.

All three subjects were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Alexander Bennett was arrested for Penal Code Section 12022(a)(1) (Armed in the Commission of a Felony), Health & Safety Code Section 11378 (Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale), Health & Safety Code Section 11351 (Possession of Heroin for Sale), and Penal Code Section 25851 (Possession of a Stolen Firearm).

Ethan Gordon and Kyli Howard were arrested for Health & Safety Code Section 11378 (Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale), Health & Safety Code Section 11351 (Possession of Heroin for Sale).

This investigation is ongoing and the department anticipates additional arrests.
