From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 08-13-2014, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a burglary at the Ettersburg School, in Ettersburg. The citizen reporting the burglary was a volunteer fireman with the Telegraph Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. The citizen told the investigating deputy the Telegraph Ridge Fire Department was in the process of taking over the Ettersburg School property after the school was shut down two years ago. The Fire Department was using the school property as an office and storage area. The gate to the property was secured with a chain, and someone had cut the chain.
The citizen believed the theft occurred between 8-7-2014 and 8-13-2014. The unknown suspect (s) stole a 5,000 gallon water tank which the Fire Department was going to use as water storage for their fire trucks. The suspect(s) also entered the school building and stole two dell desktop computers, an Epson Color Printer and office supplies.
The citizen located a set of bolt cutters near where the water tank had been located. The citizen had no idea who committed the burglary.
