From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 08-08-2014, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of shots fired and a gun brandished on Pine Creek Road, Hoopa. When the investigating deputy arrived he met with the 41 year old female victim. She told the deputy her 19 year old daughter’s boyfriend, Travis Watson, 19 years old, who lives at her residence, got into an argument with her daughter this morning. Because of the argument, the victim told Watson to leave the residence. He refused, so the victim picked up a broomstick, brandished it at him, and again told him to leave. Watson then removed a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband, pulled the slide back to chamber a live round, pointed it at the victim, and told her he was going to shoot her. After a brief standoff, Watson left the residence. As Watson drove away, the victim, her daughter and a neighbor heard shots being fired.

The investigating deputy located Watson at a relative’s residence on Highway 299, in Willow Creek. He admitted to being in an argument, but denied having a firearm or shooting one. Watson was arrested for brandishing a firearm and terrorist threats. He was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $50,000.00.

No one was injured and the firearm was not located.
