UPDATE, 4 p.m.: All systems clear! Flush away, says the MCSD!
###
UPDATE, 12:30 p.m.: “I have an update, and it’s not a pretty one,” Manila Community Services District Manager Christ Drop told the Outpost moments ago. After some investigation workers discovered malfunctions in the pump house that will require repairs. “Not a good time to find parts,” Drop noted. “It could be hours or it could be days.”
In the meantime, Manila residents, refrain from flushing your toilet! Find a friend in town or a good spot in the back yard, perhaps. Also, according to Next Door Manila, you should avoid showers, baths and laundry. But the drinking water is OK, Drop said. Repeat: It is fine to drink water from your tap. Drop said he’ll contact the Outpost when he knows more.

Original post:
Christopher Drop, the general manager of the Manila Community Services District, wishes to pass on an urgent message to the sanddwellers in his zone.
PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY WATER IN YOUR HOUSE AT ALL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Do not flush your toilet! Do not take a shower! An electrical outage caused by this morning’s squalls has left the district temporarily unable to process sewage.
Drop told the Outpost he’d give us a ring when all is well again. Until then — do not flush, Manila!
