Gertrude (Trudy) Lorraine Lamontagne Davison Williams

October 24, 1924-November 27, 2014

Trudy Williams passed away peacefully in her Ferndale home, at age ninety, on Thanksgiving Day.

Trudy was born to Elzar and Eva Lamontagne in Fall River, MA on October 24, 1924. She attended Saint Anne’s Catholic School until her family moved to Westerly, Rhode Island in 1934. She married Arthur Davison in 1942 and they had three children; Charles, Brenda and Susan. Upon her husband’s death in 1958 she and the children moved to Monrovia, California where she worked for many years and raised her family.

In 1973 she moved to Ferndale, CA where she lived with her son Charlie and daughter-‐in-‐law Shelton and worked in their store, Ferndale Candy and More. In 1975 Trudy took over the store and moved it across the street where it became known as Trudy’s Sweets and Treats. The candy store became a popular business stop for tourists and Ferndale’s young and old alike. She managed and ran the store for nearly forty years until retiring in 2012. The years she spent in the store were her life and she loved each and every child and adult that passed through the door and they loved Trudy’s. Many knew her as the Wonderful Candy Lady. She will be missed by all those who’s lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elzear and Eva Lamontagne, her sisters Lorretta Blake and Jeanette Pettengill; her brothers George, Norman and Dr. Raymond Lamontagne; husbands Arthur Davison and Donald Williams; daughter Brenda Davison Martinez and great grandson Noah James Sullivan.

She is survived by her children Charles Davison and his wife Shelton and Susan Davison, grandchildren Robyn and her husband Chuck Petrusha, Wendy Davison, Betsy Davison and \iancée Earl Ambrosini, David Luther Davison, David and his wife Anna Davison, and Courtney Davison. Her beloved sister-‐in-‐law Florence Lamontagne; nephew Norman Lamontagne; nieces Carol Jones and Lorraine Bartoshevich. Her great grandchildren Skye Davison and partner Tyler White, Harrison Dermksian and partner Mary Gipson, Ben Davison, Morgan, Connor and Logan Petrushia, Jordan and Dakota Sullivan, Riley McIntosh, Linda Martinez, Eddy Lane, Emmett and Nolan Davison and great-‐great grandson Azaria Davison.

The family wishes to thank the community of Ferndale for their aid to our Nana over the years and especially Ferndale Senior Resources, Mary Ann Bansen and Nancy Woodward, her caregiver. Memorial donations can be made to the Ferndale Museum.

A memorial service will take place on January 17th at 10:30am in the Village Club at Ferndale Town Hall.
